Records of Goose Creek Baptist Church, Fauquier County, Va., include church convenant, minutes, membership lists for whites and African- Americans (with information on baptisms, deaths, relocation, and slave-owner relationships), a brief history of the church and ministers John Hickerson, John Morgan, and William Gilmore. Letters, 1865-1869, from John E. Forgey of Paynesville, Mo., concern farm and labor conditions, mercantile business and local and state political activities; letters, 1866-1875, from members of the Bishop family in Illinois; miscellaneous accounts; and will, 1774, of John Glascock. Papers of the Glascock family of Loudoun County, Va., include letters to Tacie Glascock while attending Fair Hill Boarding school, Frederick, Md., 1858-1861, and school reports; and several 1864 letters describe Richmond as a wartime capital, a trip from Washington, D.C., to Richmond, Va., Col. John S. Mosby, and the destruction of Thomas F. Glascock's livestock by Union soldiers.
